Rain, cold and 30 mph winds did not hinder the team of Hastings/Shupe from maintaining their lead after the 2nd round of the Sarah Shelly with a 2 round net score of 129.1. Hot on their heels is Walker/Bruce with a score of 129.5. The best scramble score today was 64.2 shot by Clark/Rountree. Congratulations to all. See our leaderboard for complete results.
Up next is Deerwood where we face our most exciting and challenging format – the Pinehurst. In the Pinehurst System, both players tee off, then they switch balls. Player A plays Player B’s drive, and vice-versa. Each player hits the second shot. They then select the best of the second shots, and from that point until the ball is holed they play only one ball in an alternate shot format.
Many thanks to the Slammer and Squire for hosting us and to our Club Rep, Cindy Peterson and her helper Sandy Brokmeyer for getting us organized and checked in this morning. Our Major’s Chair, Deborah Eady, did an awesome job as did Shari Zeimetz, our Golf Genius Manager in charge of this event.
Check out our website to track the donations that have been made to our Hubbard House charity. We are already over $1,900.00 in contributions to this very worthy cause. Thank you to everyone who has already donated. If you wish to donate, your donation can be placed in the donation box which will be available on the registration table at all of our events through Christmas. Or, donate on the Hubbard House website at hubbardhouse.org. In the box designed for comments, please mention JWGA so we can track our donations.
Get your teams together for our Deercreek Scramble on November 30. Remember, you must use 3 drives from each person which makes this a bit more challenging. If you do not have a team, sign up as a single, twosome or threesome and we will pair you with others.
Sign-ups for the Grandmother’s tournament at St. John’s Golf and Country Club on December 7 opened today. In this Low Gross/Low Net flighted event, everyone plays for points. The low net Grandmother in the field will take home the coveted trophy and a little cash.
NOTE: After completing your round, please compare your hard copy scorecard to your Golf Genius scorecard to ensure that the scores match. If there is a discrepancy, the scores on the signed and attested hard copy scorecard will prevail.
As a courtesy to our host clubs and JW members, please remember to fill your divots and repair your ball marks.
Make it a great day!!
Linda Hoffman,
President – JWGA
