You might wonder what club reps do?

To say they are the lifeblood of our organization is no understatement!

First, they represent JWGA to their club and work with the Golf Scheduling Chair to schedule dates for our events and negotiate the cost, always trying to be mindful that at the heart of our organization is the notion of “quid pro quo” – their club favors us by hosting us at their club, and we favor the members of their club by hosting them at our other member clubs. It is always a delicate balance for the club rep to represent us to their club, and their club to us.

Additionally, when you sign up to play, the club representative is organizing that play day at her club — sometimes in conjunction with the Play Day Chair or the Major Tournament Chair. She is creating pairings, working with the Pro Shop Staff, organizing lunch menus, taking our phone calls, adding and removing names to the list and often reordering the pairings in response to last minute changes.

It is a challenging job and the club rep’s expertise, energy and dedication to JWGA is what makes each and every event happen. The role is so important to JWGA that each individual is appointed by the President of JWGA.

The next time you see any of these club reps including your own, please take a moment to thank them as without them, it would be almost impossible to host our many play days.
