Hi Ladies,
After lots of bantering and even more laughs, the Tigers clawed their way to a roaring win over the Eagles with a score of 52 1/2 to 49 1/2. Win or lose, this event showcases JWGA camaraderie at its best. Our thanks to Kay Buirge for her efforts in running the President’s Cup for 14 consecutive years and to Delores Adams for her help in checking the ladies in and helping with scoring.
Congratulations to Mary Ellen Bear for her fantastic hole-in-one on Hole #15. Needless to say, the Tigers won that hole.

Apparently, there is some confusion about the Championship format. You can find a description of our tournaments on our website under Event Information – Tournament Information. Here is a brief description of the format for this year’s Championship.
. The Championship alternates between stroke play and match play. This year is match play which requires 3 rounds of match play preceded by a Qualifier.
. Qualifying: One day of 18 hole stroke play. The 8 or 16 players with the lowest scores shall comprise the Championship flight. All other players shall be flighted by Handicap Index with their gross score determining their position in that flight
. Medalist: Low gross player on the first day
. A player who defaults in a match may be obliged, at the discretion of the Golf Committee, to forfeit any prize. If a player defaults in the first round of match play, the Committee must determine whether she is eligible to compete in consolation.
. A player with a Bye may compete as a NIT during the Bye round.
. A match ending in all square must be played off hole-by-hole until one side wins.
. Two matches must be won to be eligible for a prize. A default or bye is considered a win.
. The winner, runner-up and consolation winners of each flight receive a prize.
. A large silver champagne cooler and flowers are presented to the overall winner.
