What a disappointment!! Deerwood tried to host us up until the last minute, when a deluge of rain forced them to close the course. Thanks to Marilyn Becker for her tireless efforts in following up with them…her work started days in advance with rain forecasts looming…we appreciate all you did!!!
It’s been a very difficult summer for our JW family. We’ve lost three Members during the summer break…Brenda McGrath, Polly Wise, and on Tuesday, Julie Madison passed away. I will send out a formal announcement about Julie as soon as I have funeral arrangements. Please take a moment to remember these three wonderful ladies.
You should have received some communications from Shari Zeimetz asking for you to confirm a mobile phone number for texting. GolfGenius will text to our Membership if we have the correct phone numbers on file. This feature would make communications more efficient and timely. Please respond to her request, as this will make notifying Members of last minute changes more effective. We tried to contact as many people as possible via phone, although being on the road ourselves made it much more challenging.
The Mary Burnside tournament has been rescheduled for December 4 at Deercreek. It is always a great time to honor our Members who have served our country.
Next week there is no JW playday….but don’t miss Marsh Creek on September 25. Sign ups are open until September 21. Sign ups are also open for the Handicap Tournament starting on October 2. The Handicap Tournament is the first 3 weeks of October and will be the same format as last year… If you lose your first match you need to sign up as NIT for week 2. The consolation round starts after week 2.
