Terri Wensell’s grandchildren will be so proud when they learn their grandmother shot a net 66 to win the Grandmother’s tournament and trophy. Congratulations to Terri and to all of today’s flight winners. This event has a long history going back to 1971 and you can view the past winners on our website under Stats – Stats Archive – Grandmothers. Today’s putts winner came down to a back nine tie breaker between Linda Hoffman and Terri Wensell both with a score of 28 putts. Congratulations to Linda with 13 putts on the back nine.
Thanks to St. John’s Golf and Country Club for hosting us today. This course is always in great shape and the greens very challenging. Our Pros Brad and Joe along with our Club Rep, Suzanne LaPlante, worked hard to organize today’s event and it is very much appreciated. Thanks also to Suzanne and Athena for checking us in this morning and to Suzanne, Debra McDermott, Deborah Eady and Dot Peck for their support at the scoring table.
As of today, we have collected $2470.00 in contributions to our Hubbard House charity. Thank you to everyone who has already donated. If you wish to donate, we will be accepting donations at Sawgrass on Monday. Or, donate on the Hubbard House website at hubbardhouse.org. In the box designed for comments, please mention JWGA so we can track our donations.
There are still a few openings available for our Christmas event at Sawgrass Country Club on December 12 followed by lunch and a general meeting. The format for this event is 2 BB net on the front nine and 1 BB net on the back nine. Please sign up as a single if you don’t have a foursome and we will pair you with others.

Our Championship is scheduled in April and I want to remind you of our policy: While everyone can compete for prizes, in order to be eligible to WIN the Championship, a member must have played in 5 play days and attended one business meeting/luncheon (Opening Day, Christmas, or Anniversary) prior to the start of this tournament.
As a followup to my 11/13/22 email please update your calendars to reflect the following schedule changes:
January 25, 2023 – Eagle Harbor will host the Anniversary Tournament
February 22, 2023 – The Plantation will host the Mary Burnside Tournament. The clubhouse will be closed for renovation – lunch is not available.
