Today was a perfect JWGA day - low humidity, a bit cool to start, followed by bright sunshine --- and the crowning of our 2014 Handicap Champion - Faye Shepherd! And congratulations to Chris Moyer as runner up in the Championship Flight. Faye said to me today, that she was nervous going into the match as Chris is so steady and a wonderful putter! Well done to both our ladies and to all of you who participated in our Handicap Tournament. There were hard fought matches in every flight, and so congratulations to all! Sandy Brokmeyer did a beautiful job running the tournament and our appreciation is extended to her. And let's not forget about our club rep - Arlene Sherrod - for her support at Eagle Landing.
Next week is the Mary Burnside Tournament, and it is going to be a great day. You will want to arrive early so that you can get through Base Security and participate in some of the pre-golf events. I will be sending out a separate email blast with instructions on what you need to do. We have a great day planned to celebrate the life of Mary Burnside - and if you never had the opportunity to meet her, we hope when the day is over, you will know why we gather once a year to celebrate this unique individual! And don't forget --- red, white, and blue are appropriate colors for the day. Last year the Base Commander was knocked out by our style and patriotism! Let's do it again!
Birdies and Sunshine to all!
