It was a beautiful day for the first round of our Handicap Championship at Eagle Harbor. There are so many who helped organize this event and deserve a huge thank you. The Eagle Harbor management team and Susan Mackert did an outstanding job of hosting us and handling check-in. Thanks to our Golf Genius Team for handling software setup and scoring.
The results show that many of our matches were very close with some going on to extra holes. Those who lost their match today will move on to the consolation bracket. Congratulations to all the match play winners and our NIT Low Gross/Low Net winners. Please visit our website to view all the today’s results.
Next week we are at the Golf Club of Amelia Island followed by the final round and shoot-out at South Hampton. I can’t stress enough how important it is to commit to all three weeks of this tournament. Players who forfeit or default or are otherwise unable to play ANY of the 3 matches within their flights are automatically disqualified from the tournament.
Reminder: Golf Genius will post scores for all Competitors including Match Play and NIT stroke play. A score must be recorded on each hole in the Golf Genius App and on the Official Scorecard. Be sure to sign and attest your Official Scorecard.
Charity Endeavor: Thank you to Linda Trunick for handling our charity endeavor this season. The Hubbard House is a certified Domestic Violence center that provides programs and services to women, children and men. If you wish to donate, a donation box will be available on the registration table at all of our events through Christmas. Please make your check payable to Hubbard House or, donate through the Hubbard House website at https://www.hubbardhouse,org. Be sure to indicate in the comment box that you are donating on behalf of JWGA so we can keep track of our donations.
Membership: 8 new members have joined JWGA since June of 2022. I would like to welcome all the new members and hope you are enjoying this fantastic organization. Thank you to our Membership Chair, Liz Boudreaux, for doing a great job.
