Our 3 week Handicap Tournament is scheduled starting October 4: Jax Beach, Round 1, Eagle Harbor, Round 2 and South Hampton, Round 3. This event consists of 3 rounds of singles match play followed by a shootout immediately following the final round. This year, the shootout will consist of a Multi-Hole Shoot Out: To determine the overall Champion, the Flight Winners will compete in a Shoot Out following the conclusion of Match 3. The number of holes played varies depending on number of players. The player(s) making the highest score(s) on the hole is eliminated. Players shall receive their full handicap strokes allocated based on the degree of difficulty of each hole. Ties for the highest score are broken by a chip off. Play continues on subsequent holes until only a survivor (Handicap Champion) remains. Also new this year, Consolation Matches: Players who lose in Round 2 in their respective flight move into the Consolation Bracket within their flight. Players who lose in Round 1 are eliminated from the tournament. Pay Outs In each flight, The Flight Winner, Runner Up and Consolation Winner will be awarded prize money. The Overall Champion is awarded additional prize money. If you cannot commit to play all three weeks, please sign up as a NIT at the appropriate course.
As you know, we rotate counties each season to select our charity endeavors. This season, the ladies of St. John’s County selected the Wildflower Helthcare charity. Sandy Brokmeyer is our liaison for this worthwhile charity and she will provide a donation box at registration for each of our events. You may donate by depositing cash or a check made out to Wildflower Healthcare into the donation box.
Once again, I would like to thank our Board Members, Committee Members and our Club Reps for their continued support, hard work and dedication.
Play well,
Vickie Galpin
