It was a beautiful day at Amelia National for the second round of the Sarah Shelly. Thank you Tonya Martin for all your hard work coordinating this event! A special thanks to the staff at Amelia National for hosting us! As always, thanks to those who assist our Club Reps with check in, etc… Ann Rogers and Cheryl Kuppler were awesome this week!! We appreciate your efforts and support!
The day was challenging with cart path only conditions, but the weather was great and the team of Jody Clark and Suzy Rountree posted a 65.14 to take the lead in this three day tournament with a cumulative score of 133.14. They are followed closely by the team of Maria Ayala and Joey Whelan with a 134.04. That’s less than a point between our leaders! The final round of alternate shot will determine our winners. There are many teams within close range…..congratulations to our leaders and good luck to everyone next week!

PLEASE READ:
Each week, Shari Zeimetz sends out messages for participants who are registered to play that week through GolfGenius. These messages contain vital and specific information for each event. It includes cost of the event, payment methods, and special instructions regarding the day, etc. I know that we are all inundated with messages these days, but it is important that we all read the ENTIRE message each week since this is our most timely and accurate way to disseminate important information. Thank you.

Shauna Snyder has done a great job of coordinating our charitable endeavor this year…the On Course Foundation. So far this season, we have collected over $5200 in donations, through the generosity of the JWGA Membership. Thanks to all who have contributed! The On Course Foundation leverages the tenets of golf as a recovery vehicle for wounded, injured and sick veterans. It conducts programs coast to coast teaching its “members” how to play golf and business skills for careers in the golf industry. On Course Foundation then places members in golf jobs with Callaway, Invited (formerly ClubCorp), golf product manufacturers and service providers, and golf courses, country clubs and resorts. There are more than 2,000 members in the U.S. and abroad. Additional information is available at www.oncoursefoundationusa.org. 50/50 Raffle tickets will be sold each week at registration and during lunch until the Christmas playday. Also, the donation box will be placed at the registration desk each week of play until our Christmas playday. Please make your check payable to On Course Foundation or you can contribute cash as well. Don’t miss the opportunity to contribute to this wonderful organization!
