Hi ladies,
Thank you all for a wonderful Sarah Shelly tournament. Many thanks to the Palencia Club for hosting us and for the unique baked potato buffet. Special thanks to our Club Rep, Cindy Gates, for getting us organized and her helpers Lisa Proctor and Linda Hoffman for checking us in this morning. Our Major’s Chair, Debra Eady, and her helper Cynthia Hastings did a fantastic job organizing and scoring this 3 week event.
Pinehurst brings out the best in all of us and after three weeks of grueling competition, congratulations to Donna Fiedorowicz and Nancy Marshall for your 1st Place finish. Please check our weekly results page for the full list of participants and their finishing order. Congratulations to all our winners – you played well.
Signups for our Grandmother’s tournament are open. This tournament will be hosted by Cimarrone on December 8. All JW players compete in this Low Gross/Low Net tournament for points and the Grandmother with the lowest net wins the Grandmother’s tournament. Please sign up today and join in the fun.
Don’t miss our Christmas event at Sawgrass on Monday, December 13 which includes lunch and a general meeting. Signups are open now. The format for this tournament is 1 Gross + 1 Net of the foursome with an 8:30 shotgun. (Make your own foursome).
Updates to Directory: Please note that the Mixed Couples tournament is on April 28, NOT April 27 as shown in our directory. The Handicap tournament on February 2 at King and Bear is a 9:00 shotgun, NOT 8:30. Please update your directories.
Putter of the Year: Some of you have asked why we count putts when we have a partner event and can pick up. Here’s the deal: Putter of the year is calculated by averaging your 7 lowest putting rounds. In order to accumulate 7 rounds, we need to offer approximately 12 rounds where putts are counted. You always have the option of not participating in putts if you are having a bad round and want to pick up.
Member News: Congratulations to Tama Caldabaugh, winner of the Shelly Madison Tournament at Timuquana Country Club.
Our charitable endeavor collection will continue at every tournament through Christmas. Our chosen charity, The Way Free Medical Clinic, very much appreciates the contributions you have made thus far. Great job ladies!
COVID Protocols: Remember, health and safety of our members is of utmost importance. If you have COVID or have been exposed to someone with COVID, please cancel and follow CDC guidelines.
If you are traveling or staying close to home, I wish you a very safe and Happy Thanksgiving with family and friends.
Make it a great day,
Linda Hoffman,
President, JWGA
