It was another lovely winter day in Florida….the sun was shining and the temps were mild! And the Eagles soared to victory over the Tigers….that brings the standings in this ongoing competition to Eagles – 8, Tigers – 5 and 3 ties. We were greeted with some very special gifts … wonderful commemorative towels honoring Shirley Shave and Betty Cook. AND, a first for our JW organization… our golf fees were covered by Charles Raulerson and Bob Cook. Bob is Betty Cook’s son…and Charles is the nephew of both Betty Cook and Shirley Shave. Both ladies were JW Members…Shirley served as President from 1977-1979 and Betty also served on the Board. It was a wonderful surprise, and we can’t thank them enough for this wonderful show of support for our organization, and this amazing tribute to two very special ladies! In the end, we all won because the fun and camaraderie is the BEST!
Many thanks to Kay Buirge for her efforts in running the President’s Cup for 16 consecutive years and to Delores Adams for always assisting. You ladies are AWESOME!!
PLEASE TAKE NOTE: Due to the time required to clear security, registration for Windy Harbor closes on March 20, three weeks prior to the event. Please sign up early and email Deb Eady the required information.
Monday is our Anniversary Tournament, lunch and meeting at Long Point. And, Wednesday, March 6 is a General Playday at Eagle Harbor.
We’ve been noticing some slow play recently, so just a reminder to keep pace with the group in front of you at all times. Play ready golf.
Have a great week!
