Thank you to the Golf Club of Amelia for hosting Day 2 of our Handicap Tournament! Melinda McGrath did an awesome job of coordinating the event and we are grateful for all of the efforts of the Staff at GCAI!

I’d like to start the recap of the day with CONGRATULATIONS to Tama Caldabaugh for her hole in one on #5! Great playing…and we all appreciate the celebration afterwards!
Congratulations to all of our Match Play and NIT winners. One of the tournament matches went to 21 holes, and another went to 19 holes. Visit our website portal for the final results of both the Match Play and stroke play events. As a result of course closures caused by severe weather conditions, the final round of the Match Play Tournament will be contested on January 15, 2025.
Charity Endeavor: Thank you to Shauna Snyder for handling our charity endeavor this season. The On Course Foundation leverages the tenets of golf as a recovery vehicle for wounded, injured and sick veterans. It conducts programs coast to coast teaching its “members” how to play golf and business skills for careers in the golf industry. On Course Foundation then places members in golf jobs with Callaway, Invited (formerly ClubCorp), golf product manufacturers and service providers, and golf courses, country clubs and resorts. There are more than 2,000 members in the U.S. and abroad. Additional information is available at www.oncoursefoundationusa.org. The donation box will be placed at the registration desk each week of play until our Christmas playday. Please make your check payable to On Course Foundation or you can contribute cash as well. We also have a fundraising tournament scheduled for Wednesday, October 30 at Fernandina Beach Golf Course. There will be fun silent auction items available that day. And, raffle tickets for the 50/50 fundraising component will be available each playday from now until the Christmas playday as well. Don’t miss the opportunity to contribute to this wonderful organization!
