It was a gorgeous golf day at Fernandina Beach…and the generosity of JWGA came through big time! Thanks to Mary Poole our Club Rep, and the staff at Fernandina, for getting things organized and making sure the day ran smoothly! Also, thanks to Shari Zeimetz for handling the scoring for the day. And Shauna Snyder did an amazing job of organizing the fundraising efforts and getting many items donated for the silent auction. The final tally for the silent auction was $3200!! And, the 50/50 raffle (which will continue through the Christmas playday is growing steadily)…right now it is at $700. Direct contributions to On Course are currently at $1,965.

Remember, our charity endeavor this season is The On Course Foundation. This organization leverages the tenets of golf as a recovery vehicle for wounded, injured and sick veterans. It conducts programs coast to coast teaching its “members” how to play golf and business skills for careers in the golf industry. On Course Foundation then places members in golf jobs with Callaway, Invited (formerly ClubCorp), golf product manufacturers and service providers, and golf courses, country clubs and resorts. There are more than 2,000 members in the U.S. and abroad. Additional information is available at www.oncoursefoundationusa.org. 50/50 Raffle tickets will be sold each week at registration and during lunch until the Christmas playday. Also, the donation box will be placed at the registration desk each week of play until our Christmas playday.
